By Lori Perkins

Riverdale Avenue Books received their two Bronze IPPY Awards last night at the 25th annual Independent Publishers Book Awards, which was held virtually for the second year in a row due to the pandemic.

Riverdale Avenue Books won a Bronze Medal in Young Adult Fiction for Crank Palace: A Maze Runner Novella, by James Dashner, and a second Bronze Medal in Pop Culture for The Binge Watcher’s Guide to the Harry Potter Films: An Unofficial Companion, by Cecilia Tan.

“We are honored to receive IPPY awards for the sixth year in a row” said Publisher Lori Perkins. “The IPPY’s have been a staple for Riverdale Avenue Books and our authors. Although we have won IPPYs in the past for our erotic romance and LGBTQ titles, this is the first year we have cracked both the Popular Culture and Yong Adult categories. “

The IPPY Awards, are a set of annual book awards for independently published titles. They are the longest-running unaffiliated contest open exclusively to independent presses. About 2,400 publishers throughout the English-speaking world participate in the awards each year. In 2020, medals were awarded to authors and publishers from all 50 U.S. states, 10 Canadian provinces, and 61 countries.
