I was talking to a friend this morning who told me about a holiday guest she had staying with her who lucked out by hitting a ton of designer sample sales before Christmas and had packed up a box of goodies to ship home this morning before he flew back to the West Coast. While I was on the phone with her, he returned, box in arms. Seems USPS is closed today, since Christmas fell on a Sunday and the mail peeps didn’t get a day off, which is in their contract.
That’s when I learned there would be no mail delivery today either.
So if you were waiting for a late present from a distant relative, or where waiting to send out your gifts after the “Christmas rush,” you’re going to have to wait another day.
In addition to this news of no USPS services on December 26th, I was informed that this lack of mail will repeat itself on Monday, Jan 2nd. So pay your bills accordingly.
And, as a bonus, FedEx is keeping with that calendar too.
