People React to the Bill and Melinda Gates Divorce News

Although newspaper reports state that the couple had already negotiated a separation agreement by the time they made their desire to divorce public around 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 3rd, most of us were totally taken by surprise. I mean, the Gates’ marriage of 27 years was considered one of the more stable, successful life-goals of American coulplehood. They met at work and grew an enormously respected philanthropic foundation together, as well as three kids. We told ourselves the story that he was the genius billionaire, and she was the heart of their partnership.

And then Melinda Gates announced that the marriage was “irrevocably broken.” WTF?

Within hours memes and speculation followed, so instead of even trying to figure out the how and why of this, I thought I’d share some of my faves and/or the more amusing or outrageous reactions.
