Navigating across the complex spectrum of gender can be confusing, especially if someone is just dipping their toes in either educating themselves for the sake of a friend or a loved one, or navigating across the terrain themselves. Some people don’t have the time to sit down and read articles and books, so it might be easier to see these things in visuals.
So, I introduce you to Noelle Stevenson, an American cartoonist and animation producer mostly known for her role as creator and executive producer of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. With the wrap of She-Ra back in May 2020 and the pandemic isolating everyone, including Stevenson and the rest of the world in their homes, Stevenson had a lot of thinking to do, specifically about their gender.
In a comic on Twitter, pinned to the top of the feed, Stevenson illustrates, with quick little thought bubles and dialogues, how it felt for them to go through the journey to eventually feel comfortable in their body.
