Model Paulina Porizkova and Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin Call It Quits

By Lori Perkins

You might have missed the news of this four-month relationship between two boomer superstars while you’re trying to keep up with the rekindled affections of J Lo and Ben Affleck. So, I’ll just fill in the blanks for you.

Former Sports Illustrated cover model Paulina Porizkova was one of the “it girls” of the 70’s who starred in a Cars music video where she met her future husband, Ric Ocasek, and after a passel of kids, basically faded into oblivion, until Ocasek divorced her a few years ago and then died, with a fairly messy probate battle. At 56, she was still beautiful, and we all kind of felt sorry for her, because she had either given up her career or allowed herself to recede, and now she was alone and still beautiful and wrote about being single for the first time in her life since she was a teenager

Enter superstar writer Aaron Sorkin, 59, who showed her off on his arm at this year’s Academy Awards ceremony, where all tongues were wagging, as well as flashbulbs popping. We were happy that these two age-appropriate recently-single boomers might have found the right match (and maybe Sorkin would write a rom-com?).

But alas, no such luck. After only three months together, Paulina announced on Instagram last week that the couple had broken up by placing a broken-heart emoji over a paparazzi photo of her and Sorkin going for a stroll.

“I’m so grateful for his presence in my life. He helped heal me and reclaim myself. There truly may be no better man, no man who’s more genuinely ‘good.’ He’s brilliant and witty and funny and sexy,” she captioned the post.

“But it doesn’t matter how much we may wish we were birds of a feather – we’re still a duck and a goose.”
