Krispy Kreme’s Offers Commemorative Mars Rover Doughnut for One Day
By Lori Perkins
Today, NASA’s Perseverance Rover makes its epic landing on Mars and Krispy Kreme has created a red chocolate Mars Rover doughnut to commemorate this historic feat for its fans. The doughnut will only be available for one day, so plan to go by your local doughnut shop early (and often!). It is suggested that you order ahead of time online, as supplies may be limited.
Christened “The Mars Doughnut” by the company, the breakfast treat is a chocolate Kreme-filled doughnut dipped in caramel icing with a red planet swirl and sprinkled with chocolate cookie crumbs.
If you want to watch the landing of the real Mars rover robot, you can do so on Thursday at 3:55 pm ET. NASA’s Perseverance rover is scheduled to touch down on the Red Planet, after its seven-month journey through space. You can watch NASA’s live broadcast of the landing below (starting at 2:15 pm ET).
