2004: Pop-sensation Britney Spears marries childhood bestie Jason Allen Alexander in Las Vegas for 55 hours and has the marriage annulled almost immediately. It was the first of her serious romances of 2004.

1930: America rebels Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow met for the first time. The pair first interact at Clarence Clay’s house before becoming one of the most iconic bad-ass couples of all time.
2015: Cameron Diaz marries Good Charlotte guitar player Benji Madden in Beverly Hills. The pair had met seven months earlier and had a 17-day engagement period.

1759: George Washington weds Martha Dandridge Custis at what becomes the White House Plantation. This was Martha’s second marriage.
1994: US ice skater Nancy Kerrigan is hit in the leg by Tonya Harding’s bodyguards. Harding’s boyfriend supposedly hired the hit on Kerrigan so Harding would have a better chance at winning.

2009: Singer Fergie marries actor Josh Duhamel in Malibu, California. The pair had a son before their separation in 2017.

1954: Yankees legend Joe DiMaggio marries actress Marilyn Monroe at the San Francisco City Hall. This was Monroe’s second marriage after marrying James Dougherty.

2018: Simone Biles, U.S. four-time Olympics gold medalist comes forward and says Dr. Larry Nassar sexually assaulted her. Nassar was accused of more than 130 cases of sexual assault.

1968: Actress Sharon Tate marries director Roman Polanski in London. Tate was murdered by the Manson clan while eight and a half months pregnant with their first child.
1971: John Lennon gets to meet Yoko Ono’s parents. This is the first time he meets them in Japan after a period of strain due to Lennon’s drug use.

1940: American actor Ronald Raegan marries Brother Rat co-star Jane Wyman in California. The pair had two children, one who died in infancy, and one adopted child before their divorce in 1949.
1998: President Bill Clinton announces, “I want to say one thing to the American people: I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.” The acts allegedly happened from 1995-1997. He was later brought up on impeachment charges for lying before a grand jury.
