Nothing brings me more joy than the news of the arrival of babies, and I really needed this jolt of joy as the Delta variant rages through the south and we watch the nightly news out of Afghanistan.
I knew Scarlett Johansson was expecting from the reports surrounding her lawsuit with Disney over the release of Black Widow on their streaming service, but I had no idea how far along she was. When I woke up to the news that Johansson and Jost had announced the birth of their son, Cosmo, I was thrilled for both of them. I am sure Cosmo will keep her busy as she fights the good fight.
I also knew that Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and his husband Chasten were trying to become dads. They had even shared the news that they had come very close and failed a little while ago, but I was not expecting to see their happy news this week.
“For some time, Chasten and I have wanted to grow our family,” Buttigieg posted. “We’re overjoyed to share that we’ve become parents! The process isn’t done yet and we’re thankful for the love, support, and respect for our privacy that has been offered to us. We can’t wait to share more soon.”
The gender and age of the child or children has not yet been made public, although fellow politicians and celebrities toasted the couple’s good news.
