Celebrity Mother’s Day at Home
Thankfully America’s celebrities seem to have learned that ostentatious instagram bragging is not the way to our hearts after two months in isolation, so this year America’s beloved stars have posted a lot of thankful-for-my-mom photos.
Surprisingly, the most heartfelt seemed to be Tallulah Willis’ tribute to her mom, Demi Moore, from whom she was estranged for three years.
"Channeling love and strength to every mother to be, tired mamas, step moms, and mamas who’ve lost something precious. I’m sending it to anyone who struggles to celebrate a day when it reminds them of a loss," the 26 year-old wrote.
"I didn’t talk to my mom for almost three years and during that shattered time this day would transport me from fragmented pieces to absolute dust. I remember tearing up driving to work upon hearing a radio ad that cheerily recommended which ‘perfume Mom would absolutely adore.’
Tallulah added, "I revel in all that you are @demimoore and all that you continue to teach me. I witness what this day means for you, and where you came from. Every nook and cranny of you is worthy and gilded. I love you."
Nicole Kidman posted a lovely photo hugging her mom with the sentiment, “I know so many of us are not getting the chance to kiss and hug our Mums today, but to all the Mothers of the world - we are always with you and celebrating you #MothersDay ”
Cindy Crawford also posted a sweet photo of her and her mom. “So grateful to have @jsmaki as a mom. She showed me what unconditional love looks like and gave me the confidence to become a mother myself. The two greatest gifts! Love you mom!”
Former First Lady Michelle Obama posted praise to her own mom, Marilyn Robinson. "As we head into Mother’s Day weekend, I’m reflecting on the lessons that my mom taught me and my brother Craig over the years," she said. "When we were growing up, she always gave us the space to ask questions and share our ideas. And she always took us seriously, carefully considering what we had to say and responding with thoughtful questions, and plenty of encouragement."
