Lean In’s Sheryl Sandberg Gets Second Chance at Love with Engagement
Sheryl Sandberg, the Chief Operating officer of Facebook, and the author of the best-seller Lean In, is engaged to Tom Bernthal, the founder of Kelton Global, a Los Angeles-based global marketing research and brand consulting agency. Of course, she announced her engagement on Facebook!
“Engaged!!! Tom Bernthal, you are my everything. I could not love you more,” Sandberg, 50, wrote on her Facebook post.
The couple were engaged after a mountain hike and picnic lunch at Vermejo Park Ranch, which is owned by Ted Turner in northeastern New Mexico and southern Colorado. The ranch is about three-quarters the size of the State of Rhode Island.
According to People Magazine, Bernthal, 46, proposed with a ring featuring five tiny hidden diamonds underneath the setting to represent each of their five children.
Sandberg tragically became a widow five years go when her husband, Dave Goldberg, the chief executive of SurveyMonkey, died of cardiac arrest while on vacation. Sandberg was very public about her grieving process and wrote a book about it, Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience, and Finding Joy.
Sandberg was introduced to her fiancé by her brother-in-law, Rob Goldberg.
