Breaking News: RuPaul’s Drag Race is Canon
Yes, you’ve read that title correctly: our favorite drag queens featured in RuPaul’s Drag Race are in the same universe as characters like the X-men, Avengers, and Thanos.
In the latest ‘Marauders’ X-men comic, a comic series that follows Marauders Storm, Pyro, Bishop and Iceman sailing the seas of the world to protect those hated and feared, Ice Man reveals while he’s not on some council, he says he is “a guest judge on Drag Race this week.”
Storm replies, “Well, clearly, you have the most responsibility.”
She’s 100% right.
Of course, Fans have all sorts of different questions, like will Ru herself be making an appearance in the comics? Are any famous drag queens mutants, superheroes, or aliens?
In Marvel comics, the first ever drag-queen superhero, Will Shade, made her first appearance at New York City Pride in the Iceman comic, a superhero who has the ability to teleport with the flick of her fan. Fans of the comic and RuPaul’s Drag Race wonder if Will Shade partook in drag race and id so, did she win?
This all leaves some very interesting plotlines to be made in the future. What I’m expecting is one of the famous drag queens catching wind of all this and making a superhero comic featuring all of our favorite drag queens as mutants, superheroes and supervillains, battling each other. Now that’s a comic that would sell quickly in the right hands.
